About Nipponika
Japanese craft for everyday life
Nipponika brings together Japanese craft goods selected in Japan for the way they look, feel and fit into everyday life.
Our first collection explores Arimatsu shibori through scarves, pouches, handkerchiefs, towels, coasters and a wall tapestry. These textiles offer a simple way to bring Japanese colour and pattern into what you wear, carry and keep at home.
Selected in Japan
We sourced this collection at the Arimatsu-Narumi Shibori Museum in Nagoya. Shibori is a Japanese resist-dyeing tradition in which cloth is folded, bound or stitched before dyeing to create patterns and texture.
